In July 2000, Channel 4 aired the first series of what would become the Nationwide Phenomenon, Big Brother. The Series featured 9 hand picked people to live in a purpose built house in Bow, London. The First series introduced us to the controversial character, Nasty Nick who was the first ever person to be ejected from the House. The Series ran for 9 weeks and finished in September 2000. The Second series introduced us to other characters again. In 2002, Big Brother re-located to Elstree Studios, Borehamwood. The third series introduced us to Jade Goody, who went on to become a UK Superstar who stared in Big Brother Panto, in 2004, Celebrity Big Brother 5 in 2007 and the Indian Big Brother, Bigg Boss, she died of Cancer in 2008 and is missed by Millions. In 2003, Big Brother 4 started and is always classed as the boring series of Big Brother. In late 2003, Open Auditions were held for Big Brother 5, The Evil Series. Series 5 is famous for Fight Night, between Housemates, Emma, Nadia, Michelle, Stuart and more after Emma and Michelle moved from the Bedsit back into the main House. In 2005 the series returned for its 6th series. In 2006 the series was signed on till at least 2010, where the series finished. Big Brother 7 was followed by the Most Controversial series yet, Celebrity Big Brother 5, which is famous for the racist row between Jade Goody and Shipla Shetty. Big Brother 8 aired in 2007 and was followed by Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack. Big Brother was aired again in 2008 and 2009. 

Big Brother 11 saw the Final C4 series of Big Brother begin in 2010. The Series ran for 11 weeks but also launched Ultimate Big Brother, which aired for 3 weeks. It featured past Big Brother contestants taking part again to win the title 'Ultimate Housemate' The Series was won by Brian Dowling.
